I have been drawing since I was a little girl growing up in Philadelphia, PA (where my favorite television show and earliest artistic influence was Gene London's Cartoon Corners General Store). I studied art at Maryville College in Maryville, TN and upon graduation worked as a paste-up and graphic design artist in Atlanta, GA before concentration on freelance art and illustration work. I received the Outstanding Pennsylvania Author/ Illustrator Award from the Pennsylvania School Librarians Association in 2008. I am also a member of the SCBWI (Society of Children's Book Writers and Illustrators).
